Sadness Within 2

The rain was already pouring down hard. A rumble of thunder was heard from the clouds. In the Candy Kingdom, the candy people were all playing in the rain, some were in raincoats and carrying around umbrellas. They were running around the small town. Inside the castle, Princess Bubblegum was making experiments in her lab, with Finn right beside her.

"Hmm. Would you mind grabbing that flask right next to you, Finn?"

Finn grabbed a small flask full of blue liquid and handed it to Bubblegum. He looked out the window, seeing that the rain had gone harder.

"Wonder where Jake is. He said he'll be here."

"I'm sure he's heading over here. It's just taking him some time."

"Probably playing with BMO again."

Bubblegum's experiments were letting out pink smoke after she was combining some chemicals. Finn walked towards the window, looking down at the candy people.

"Hey Princess. Won't the candy people get sick if they keep on running around town while it's raining?"

Bubblegum took off her goggles, and placed them on the table.

"Nah, they're fine. It's not like it's snowing out there!"

"Haha, yeah. I guess your right."

Finn looked around the Candy Kingdom. Many of the candy people were playing around, some were splashing in big puddles. Just then, he saw a small object running towards the castle. It was Jake!

"Oh! Jake's here!"

"Well, let's go greet him."

Finn and PB both went out of the lab and into the big hall. Just as they got there, the double doors slammed wide open. Jake came running into the hall.

"Greetings Jake!"

"Sup' Jake! I thought for a second you weren't gonna make-"

Finn and the Princess both gasped in shock. Jake's face had a few cuts and bruises. His face was filled with terror.

"Finn! PB!"

Jake stopped right in front of Finn and Princess Bubblegum and fell to the floor. He was panting like crazy. Finn kneeled down beside Jake and grabbed him by the shoulders.

"Jake! What's happened to you? You're all bruised up, and you're soaked!"

"You should come in and get dry. You can catch a cold."

Jake panted so hard, he could barely speak.

"No...time.....they're.... following.....me..."

"What? Who? Who's following you Jake?"

"These.....monsters......like.....bears...and lions combined.....red eyes.......following me..."

Finn looked up at Bubblegum in confusion. So quickly, they all heard screams coming from downtown. The Princess ran to the doors and looked out.

"What in the world?!"

Finn got up and ran to Bubblegum, looking out the doors. He saw black creatures coming through the gates. There were at least 10 to 15 of them. The candy people were running into their houses.

"What are those things? They're huge! Is that what you were talking about Jake?"

Jake stretched himself to the doors.

"That's them. There were so many when I was on my way here. Some of them attacked me; some of them try to bite me. Now that they're here, there's no telling of what they might do next."

Finn took out his sword.

"We have to kill these monsters before they harm the candy people. Princess, you must remain here. You'll get hurt."

"Alright Finn. Stay safe out there!"

"We will! C'mon Jake!"

Both Finn and Jake started down the stairs. The rain came down onto Finn's face like ice.

"I'll go kill those monsters. Jake, you go take care of the candy people. Lead them to the castle where they can be safe!"

"Right dude!"

Finn ran down the steps and into town. Jake went the other way, making his way down to the houses. He saw a couple of the monsters trying to break into houses. Jake punched the monsters as hard as he could. One of them jumped onto him. The others started to bite his arms and head.

"AUGHH! THAT HURTS!! LET GO!!!"

Jake broke free from them, grew his hands large, and grabbed them. He smashed them hard to ground, the floor shook. The monsters were knocked out. Some candy people came out from hiding and cheered for Jake.

"Is everyone alright? No one's hurt?"

They were all fine. They were still scared though.

"Alright, everyone head for the castle!"

The candy people rushed out of their hiding places and homes, and started running to the castle.

"Better go help out Finn! Maybe he needs my help!"



Finn was slaying every monster he could see with his sharp sword. He helped out some of the candy people that were in danger. The rain was now coming down so heavy.

"Is there any other candy people in need?"

No answer. All the candy people escaped their homes and went to the castle.

"Finn!"

Finn spun around and saw Jake coming his way.

"Jake! All the candy people are at the castle."

"BEHIND YOU!"

Finn felt a hot breath behind his head. His looked up and saw a monster looking down at him. Its glowing red eyes seem to shine brightly. It let out growling sounds, started to snarl at him. Finn could see its sharp fangs. He turned to the monster and striked it with his sword. The monster let out a horrible roar. Finn saw the scar he made with his sword. The monster raised his paw and landed straight at Finn.

"FINN!!"

Finn fell to the ground, his cheek was scratched. His sword flew out of his hand and landed far away from him. Jake stretched both his fists at the monster and sent the monster flying. It landed on the ground hard, got up, and ran off. Jake grabbed Finn's sword and went to Finn.

"Finn? Are you alright?"

Finn raised his head and smiled.

"I'm always fine!"

He got up and retrieved his sword from Jake.

"How about you? Are you okay?"

"Yeah, they sort of bit me on my arms and head, but no real damage."

Finn looked out the gate entrance of the Candy Kingdom. He wondered if there was any more on its way.

"I don't think that was all the monsters. I have a feeling that there might be more. C'mon, let's go back to the castle."

Finn started walking back, but he realized that Jake just stood there.

"Jake. C'mon, let's go back."

Jake turned around and looked at Finn.

"Finn. I may have an idea of how to stop them."

"What?"

"I think I should go and find out where they're coming from, and stop them from coming here. You should stay here with PB and protect this place if any more of those monsters come."

Finn just looked at Jake.

"...no Jake. I don't like that plan. If you go out there by yourself, you'll definitely get hurt, or even killed."

"I'll be fine man. I'm a magical dog with magical powers. I'll be fine."

"No Jake. I won't let you leave."

Jake started walking towards the gate entrance.

"JAKE! NO!"

Finn ran and grabbed Jake's arms, trying not to let him move the other direction.

"Finn, let go."

"No, you'll get hurt out there!"

"Finn!"

"NO!"

Finn felt Jake wrap himself around his body. Jake smiled at Finn, and rubbed his cheek onto Finn's.

"Don't worry. I'll be right back."

Jake unwrapped himself off of Finn and started to walk again. Finn was clenching his hands.

"JAKE, YOU BETTER COME BACK SAFE, YOU HEAR ME?"



Jake was only a few minutes away from the Candy Kingdom, he looked back and the castle. He went into the trees, thinking he might hear more of the growls he heard before. The rain had slowed down to showers. The ground was muddy and wet.

He looked around, and on the ground, he found big animal tracks. He followed the tracks and it led him to a large forest. The place was filled with burned trees and burned grass. The tracks ended in a big black hole underneath a big tree. When he got near the hole, he could hear the same growls he heard before.

The same monsters, now 20 of them, came out from the hole and were now surrounding Jake. At the corner of his eye, he saw one that was running off with a big bag. Jake immediately went into action. He punched the monster with his fists, and it let go of the bag. He then opened the bag and it was revealed to be sticks of dynamite tied with rope.

"Dynamite? Were these monsters planning on trying to blow up the Candy Kingdom? But...where'd they get the dynamite from?"

Before he knew it, the monsters grabbed Jake with its teeth. Jake nearly screamed in pain. The other monsters tried to bite Jake's skin off.

"I gotta...do something.....gotta kill them...."

Jake looked at the dynamite. He had some sort of plan. He stretched his body all around the monsters and squeezed them together. Without thinking, he tried to light up the dynamite.

"I don't know why I'm doing this, I'm gonna be killed by my dumb plan. But, it's all I got right now. Oh Finn....if I don't get out of this alive....I hope you know that you were my best brother and best friend I ever had. Thanks for always sticking by with me..."

It wasn't possible, but Jake got the dynamite to light. He attached the dynamite with the monsters and squeezed them very tightly. Then he shut his eyes...

"Oh man.....this is gonna hurt so bad...."



"Finn! You're alright!"

Finn finished climbing up the stairs to the castle. Princess Bubblegum looked at his cheek.

"Oh Finn, your cheek!"

Finn covered the injury with his hand.

"It's nothing Princess. I'm okay."

Bubblegum looked around.

"Hey, where's Jake?"

Right after she asked, they both hear a muffled explosion. There was a red flash coming through the trees. They saw black smoke and fire from above. Finn's face looked so terrorized.

"......jake?......"
